Rimu loved being on stage for the school production!  For our scene we dressed as something beginning with 'C' (for the Three Cs).  Can you name our characters?

Happy Christmas to Kaiapoi Lodge

Thank you to Mr Power for bringing us to Kaiapoi Lodge.  We sang songs to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Beans, beans, beans

We were proud to grow our beans from seeds, ready to plant in the garden.  We could explain that the seeds needed water, sunshine and food from the soil, to grow.

Mary and Joseph

In our study of the Saints we are focusing on Mary and Joseph's care of the young Jesus and how our parents care for us.  We have role-played some of the loving actions.

Reflections

Welcome to Term 4!  We have begun with an exciting measurement study of reflections, translations and rotations, learning what each means in mathematics.  Here is Marcus showing us some reflections in mirrors, using an application downloaded to a phone.

Our Teddy Bears' Picnic

In our Church Strand for R.E. we have been learning how we belong to a family (home, class, school and parish) and how we celebrate this.  For one of our class celebrations we held a Teddy Bears' Picnic!  See the movie (and sing along) on our class page.

2013 Space Odyssey

This term we have asked and answered lots of questions about the Moon, the Sun and our solar system.   Science Alive came to help us with our inquiry.  Thank you to Penelopi and our parent helpers.  Watch our movie on the class page!

Run, run said the Gingerbread Man

Our big book this week was The Gingerbread Man.  We had lots of fun retelling the story in sequence, learning the rhyme and of course making and baking real gingerbread men to have adventures!  We photographed them using iPads and they are now starring in Puppet Pal.

Our trip to Hanmer Springs

How exciting! We celebrated Catholic Schools day with a whole school trip to Hanmer. We loved the pools, lazy river, water playground, lizard slide .... everything! Thank you to all those who made the trip possible.
