Term end highlights
What an amazing week we have had! We took part with enthusiasm in our first school production, continued with lessons, welcomed new friends to class, then the school entered a float in the Santa Parade yesterday! Well done to all!
Rimu wishes you a very Happy Christmas and joyous 2018.

Saint Mary and Saint Joseph
We have been learning that Mary and Joseph cared for Jesus when he was young, in the same way as our parents care for us.
Here we are role-playing when Mary is telling Joseph the good news:

Our Teddy Bears Picnic
Our teddies loved coming to school last week for the annual Teddy Bears' Picnic! We ate yummy food from the picnic basket and played games under the trees. Our favourite was Hide and Seek, trying to get to the bear cave before the seeker saw us!

What an exciting way to end Term 3! On Thursday we practised our financial literacy skills supporting the seniors' Paddy's Market and on Friday we practised our physical skills for Wheels Day!

Signs of Creation
Our Year 1 and 2 children have been enjoying finding signs of Creation all around school. Here we are, making bark rubbings and learning about the role of sap inside trees. We have loved watching blossom develop on tree branches and finding abandoned birds' nests. The bean seeds which we have planted are also beginning to sprout - how exciting!

How do we grow?
We are asking questions about our growth: how do babies start talking? How do we learn to talk? How do babies grow hair? How do bones get food to grow? What do we need to grow?
We were so lucky today to have Jaks' new baby sister visit our classroom - she is so tiny!

Sound games
During Curriculum Connections on Fridays, students in the computing club working with Mr Pettigrew shared sound games which they have created using the Scratch Junior app - aren't we lucky? Rimu really enjoyed practising alphabet sounds knowledge using the games which the computer club group coded and created.
